Metro-North Railroad offers railway service from the Grand Central to Harlem Valley-Wingdale stations and return several times a day including weekends.
The current weekday schedule from NYC to Wingdale starts at 7:53am and repeats almost every two (2) hours until 3:44pm when the schedule is increased to almost every hour until 7:54pm. The total trip is approximately 2 hours.
The current weekend schedule from Wingdale to NYC starts at 6:31am and repeats exactly every two (2) hours until 8:31pm. The total trip is again approximately 2 hours.
The Harlem Valley-Wingdale station is only 9 miles or a 15-minute ride to the campus. Many of the returning alumni will pass by the station on their way to Kent and the opposite direction when they are returning home.
One-way fare for the trip is $12.75 (Seniors; and I think we are all seniors by now) both peak and off-peak. Otherwise, it is $19.75 off-peak and $25.75 peak.
We are looking at the possibility of alumni shuttle volunteers to meet one or two of the trains at Wingdale on Thursday & Friday and return from Kent to Wingdale on Sunday.
Let us know if this is a possibility to increase attendance for those who can get to NYC but need transportation to Kent.
